Shamus Martin

Shamus joined the team at Royal Lytham & St Annes in March 2019 from his previous Professional role at Aberdovey Golf Club. He has 12 years experience working in the golf industry while working at a wide range of facilities, from resorts to championship venues. As an amateur Shamus played his club golf at Royal North Devon GC among others and played county golf for Devon.

After his Junior golf days Shamus attended Aberystwyth University where he studied Sport & Exercise Science. Whilst attending University he played first division university team golf and also played national individual events on the British University Tour. During his studies he found a passion for coaching and for the inner workings of golf equipment which he has taken forward into his Professional roles. This has lead Shamus to spend time at tour venues working with equipment companies and players.

Now in his 6th year as a professional Shamus still has the same passion for the game and regularly competing in PGA tournaments, having had success winning both individual PGA events and Pro-Am competition. He has taught golf in plenty of different situations from running successful school and junior programs, teaching amateurs of all abilities, to working with professional golfers. His attentive teaching style can be adapted to all players so that you get the most out of each lesson and he also has a great understanding of the latest launch monitor technology.
